First organized and incorporated in 1959, the Hudson Valley Oil Heat Council is dedicated to promoting greater comfort, convenience and safety in area homes and businesses through research and application of advanced methods of heating, cooling and air conditioning.

At Hudson Valley we currently represent active member oil companies and associate members in Dutchess, Orange, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Putnam, serving an area from Kingston to Nyack, New York.

Biofuels, a mixture of heating oil and renewable organic fuels, will be available soon. Your modern Oilheat furnace is able to use green biofuels. Natural gas heating systems cannot use biofuels. Oilheat - the way to go green!

KAITLYN WALSH WINS 2013 FISCHBECK SCHOLARSHIP NEWBURGH — Kaitlyn Walsh, the daughter of a delivery truck driver who works for Main Care/Daley Oil, has been awarded the $2,000 Bill Fischbeck Memorial Scholarship by the Hudson Valley Oil Heat Council. The award was presented to Kaitlyn at the Fischbeck Memorial Golf Outing,held May 13 at the Otterkill Country Club. Kaitlyn, 17, plans to attend Russell Sage College in Troy and earn a BS in nursing. She will graduate in June from Averill Park High School in Averill Park, an Albany suburb. She is a member the National Honor Society. Bill Fischbeck of Wallace Oil in Middletown, a well-known community leader active in Rotary, Jaycees, his church and fire company, died in 1999 at the age of 49. Ron Mustello, president of the Hudson Valley Oil Heat Council, said the council feels the annual scholarship is the best way to keep alive the memory of “an oilman’s oilman.” Mustello is manager of Petro-LoveEffron Oil in Poughkeepsie.

Bonnie Lulay was honored as Oil Woman of the year in 2012. She served as a member of the board for 20 years. During that time she served as recording secretary. Bonnie also helped with the Bill Fischbeck Memorial Golf Outing and the fall dinner dance. During the housing boom in she volunteered to make presentations to area real estate agencies about the advantages of oil heat. She is one of our most steadfast supporters, said Ron Mustello,HVOHC president.

Home owners will benefit from the switch to ultra low sulfur fuel starting July 1. The switch will make oil heat the cleanest burning fuel on the market. It is all part of the effort by the oil heat industry to provide our customers with most environmentally friendly fuel on the market today.
